Update from Principal
Dear Families
What a busy and rewarding term it has been! Together we have celebrated so many special events, including our Athletics Carnival, Enterprise Fete, Book Week, RU Ok? Day, the P&C Disco, Year 5 student speeches, and the choir performance. Many classes have also enjoyed excursions, and our students proudly represented our school at interschool athletics.
We would like to sincerely thank all families for your ongoing support and encouragement. A special thank you also goes to our dedicated staff, whose commitment and care make our school such a wonderful place to work and learn. It has been fantastic to see our students thriving across so many different areas this term.
Looking ahead, we are excited to invite all families to our Open Board Meeting on Tuesday 15 October at 5.30pm in the library. This will be a great opportunity to get a first look at our draft Business Plan, ask questions, and share your thoughts. We hope to see many of you there.
Staffing Update
We would like to take this opportunity to wish Mrs Caroline Thorp all the very best as she heads into retirement – what an exciting new chapter! We also extend our thanks to Mrs Thorp for her wonderful work in Room 4 this term while Mrs O’Dea has been on long service leave. Au revoir!
Looking ahead, next term we will be welcoming Ms Jenna Fairclough to our administration team on Thursdays and Fridays. We also look forward to formally introducing Ms Fairclough when she joins us then.
Wishing all our families a safe, happy, and restful holiday break—we look forward to another great term ahead.
Kind regards,
Denise
R U OK?Day
Thank you to all the staff, students and families who supported R U Ok? Day. We raised $210.95 for R U Ok? Thank you also to Lewis McMahon who donated some yummy treats for the families and staff.
Got a feeling that someone you know or care about isn’t behaving as they normally would? Perhaps they seem out of sorts? More agitated or withdrawn? Or they’re just not themselves. Trust that gut instinct and act on it. Learn more about the signs and when it's time to ask R U OK? https://www.ruok.org.au/signs

P & C Disco
Thank you to the P&C led by Jade and Sheloe for what I hear was a fabulous disco on Friday. The decorations looked amazing! I am so sad that I was unable to be there. Thank you to Ms Tucknott for all your help on behalf of Mrs Ward and I.

Kindy Mingle – Welcome to new Kindy students for 2026
Last week we welcomed our new kindergarten students and their parents for 2026 through a Kindy Mingle event where we spent some time beginning to learn about our youngest students next year. During the Kindy Mingle, students and parents rotated around activities individually and staff were able to begin to see student’s knowledge, skills, and needs to help us with planning for 2026. We have genuinely enjoyed getting to know the Kindy children for next year over the session and see some of their interests and strengths.
The children in Kindy are an important part of shaping our curriculum and we offer many opportunities across the day for children to contribute to the curriculum and plan for their learning. In addition to this, we also draw on both the Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to inform our decision making and program planning. Both frameworks strongly reflect the value of play based education for children based in warm and responsive relationships with adults and other children.
As a quick and brief introduction, here are some of the principles that influence our programs: The Early Years Learning Framework describes childhood as a time of belonging, being and becoming.
- Belonging is the basis for living a fulfilling life. Children feel they belong because of the relationships they have with their family, community, culture and place.
- Being is about living here and now. Childhood is a special time in life and children need time to just ‘be’— time to play, try new things and have fun.
- Becoming is about the learning and development that young children experience. Children start to form their sense of identity from an early age, which shapes the type of adult they will become.
Thank you to those who came along to the Kindy Mingle. It was great to have the opportunity to meet you all.
Enterprise Fete
Last week on 16September, the Year 5s and 6s ran the Enterprise Fete. It was an enormous success, and every single group did an amazing job. Each group was loaned $50 to set up their business and their goal was to make $100 creating a $50 profit. Each group well and truly reached their goal! The total funds raised at the event were $3,138.20!! This money will be put to towards the the student’s graduation costs. It was also wonderful opportunity to connect with our community and families. Thank you to everyone who supported our students on the day and to our Year 5 and 6 families who supported their children in the lead up to the day. Lastly, a HUGE shoutout to our Year 5 and 6 students and staff well done on a fantastic day and result!.
